What is Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy?

The goal of pelvic floor physiotherapy is to improve pelvic floor function through education, exercise, lifestyle modifications and hands on treatment. The pelvic floor muscles are responsible for optimal urinary, bowel, and sexual function. When these muscles aren’t working properly, this can lead to symptoms such as incontinence (leaking when you don’t want to), urgency or frequency (having to urinary urgently or often), retention (being unable to empty fully), and/or pain. Through full body external assessment and digital internal assessment as appropriate, we can help determine the cause of dysfunction and reduce or eliminate symptoms.

What is Vestibular Rehabilitation?
Vestibular rehabilitation is an exercise-based therapy designed to improve balance and reduce problems related to dizziness or vertigo. Vestibular rehabilitation is a proven and effective treatment for several inner ear disorders that may be the cause of dizziness.
BPPV is the most common cause of vertigo and can typically be resolved within 1-3 treatments.

What is a Concussion?
A concussion is a mild traumatic brain injury caused by a force such as a direct blow to the head, neck or face, or from a blow to another part of the body with a mechanical force transmitted to the head. A concussion can be the result of a motor vehicle accident, sports related injuries, falls etc. The individual may not experience a loss of consciousness with the incident. In fact, only approximately 10% of concussions involve a loss of consciousness.
